Direct Sponsorships Projects

Today we are talking to K-12 public schools about using EFF sponsorship dollars to help place solar PV systems on top of classrooms, replacing their coal based electricity with clean, green, solar power. Your purchase of a “Direct Sponsorship” helps build more solar farms and slowly puts an end to consuming Fossil Fuel. Just imagine every child in this country learning under lights powered by solar energy. Will you join us and contribute?

In addition to schools, sponsorship dollars will also help support the following projects: on commercial buildings, grocery stores, and other retail outlets.

GOT Floor, CA

GOT floor is a Santa Clara, California based business that specializes in “Eco Friendly” flooring for industrial, commercial and residential customers. The owner, Zeno Azarcheh, calls himself a “tree hugger in a suit”, and is a big proponent of our vision to help “End Fossil Fuel”. His first major commitment to renewable energy was the installation of a 4kW solar system on his home in 2007. Today, Zeno is allowing us to use his building as the first EFF sponsorship site. In addition to re-using, recycling, and being efficient at their offices, Mr. Azarcheh also plans in 2009 to replace his fleet of company cars with new Hybrids.

In order for us to use the Gotfloor.com building as a site for an EFF project, we had to engage in a Power Purchase Agreement. These agreements range from 15-20 years and commit the building owner to consume all the power produced from these systems for the life of the agreement.

At End Fossil Fuel we are actively seeking owners and tenants of large buildings to partner with and build large scale solar farms on their rooftops. In each case, a power purchase agreement helps to support these projects. Our goal is to build a solar system on top of as many schools, libraries, and commercial building as possible, replacing their consumption of fossil fuel based electricity with clean, green, solar.

Camp Springs Wind Farm

In the rolling hills and farmland west of Dallas, Texas, the Camp Springs Wind Farm is producing enough electricity to power over 50,000 homes. The project, commissioned in July 2007, was developed by the renewable energy firm Invenergy Wind. Consisting of 87 state-of-the-art wind turbines, Camp Springs provides 130.5 MW of clean, renewable energy for state residents. In addition, the growing wind industry throughout the US is providing job growth and new sources of revenue for struggling land-owners.

The actual electricity produced by the wind farm is sold to the regional electrical grid, called ERCOT. In addition to basic electricity, the wind farm generates a Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) for each MW hour of electricity produced. RECs represent the “green” attributes of the electricity and can be used to offset an individual or business’ carbon footprint. To understand this concept, consider that each MW hour of electricity produced by the wind farm eliminates the need for the electricity to be generated by a fossil fuel source.
